What exactly do I do as a contested probate lawyer -- or, in legal jargon, a probate litigator? In a nutshell, I help families, individuals and companies throughout southeast Michigan -- and most often in the metro-Detroit area (but not always) -- with any disputed or contested probate-related matter, which often extends well beyond probate court. In essence, my clients include anyone dealing with legal issues directly or indirectly effecting seniors, family members of seniors, and those professionals and companies who work primarily with seniors and their families.
This can cover quite a broad area of the legal spectrum. As an experienced attorney specializing in probate litigation, but handling select other legal matters as well, I consider myself to be all of the following: The big senior-related legal areas I don't handle are estate planning and elder law. Luckily, my partners and other attorneys in my law firm do handle them! I need the excitement, strategy and challenge of contested court cases to keep my blood flowing! Other attorneys can handle the "legal planning" end. I, and the other attorneys in my office, proudly offer free consultations to help prospective clients see what we can do to help them. Many attorneys no longer do this; but we are committed to this approach. More than anything, I and the other attorneys in my office want to help people. We help people throughout the region, including in Troy, Detroit, Birmingham, Warren, Rochester, Novi, Northville, Ann Arbor, Macomb Township, St. Clair Shores, Grosse Pointe, Livonia, Royal Oak, West Bloomfield, Bloomfield Township, Bloomfield Hills, Washington Township, and many other communities. The day I feel I am not able to help my clients, I will hang 'em up. Until then, I shall gladly remain a Michigan probate litigator!
